Naturopathic What?

There is a good chance you've never heard of a "Naturopathic Doctor" (pronounced "Nature-O-Path-ick"). Or, if you've heard of one, it is likely that you haven't seen one before. Well, the short answer to that important question is that (1) a naturopathic doctor is simply a doctor who practices natural, holistic medicine and (2) you should see one because naturopathic doctors are among the most safe, effective, best-trained medical professionals available anywhere.

Naturopathic doctors are playing a central role in healing healthcare, itself. As the cost of healthcare skyrockets, along with the rates of debilitating chronic, degenerative disease, the need for safe, effective, natural medicine cannot be overlooked. At a time in history where modern medicine has become so toxic and dangerous that its mistakes, alone, are the third leading cause of death in the US (!), it is clear that we need a better way to take care of our health, our bodies, our communities, and our planet. This is definitely a discouraging state of affairs, but there is good news for everyone: naturopathic doctors are out there showing us that better way we so desperately need!

In a perfect world, primary care doctors would all be naturopathic doctors. Don’t get me wrong - conventional doctors are wonderful, brilliant people and their main tools - pharmacology and surgery - certainly have their place in eliminating serious diseases and saving lives. But because they are so powerful and costly they often should not be used as the go-to solution to common health problems related to shortcomings in the way we treat our bodies and live our lives.
